Co-optex showrooms to get a facelift

To introduce new designs and natural-dyed cotton sarees

Co-optex has planned to modernise 20 of its showrooms in prime locations not only to boost sales but to also provide better ambience to customers. It has introduced several new designs in sarees and natural-dyed cotton varieties keeping in mind the health of customers, according to T.N. Venkatesh, Managing Director, Co-optex.

Speaking to The Hindu , he said Co-optex showrooms at Karaikudi, Madurai, Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Tirunvelveli and Vellore will be modernised. A sum of Rs.5 crore had been sanctioned to modernise 20 show rooms in the State.

All showrooms will be air conditioned and CCTV cameras will be fitted for security reasons, he added.

Karaikudi and Chettinad have plenty of designs. We have been adopting traditional designs of Chettinad to provide a wide range to customers.

Handloom weavers from the State were taken to Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh to get hands-on experience and to learn their traditional design, culture and preferences of upcountry buyers to produce sarees with innovative designs as Co-optex has been selling its products throughout the country and also abroad.

Batik print and tie dye bed sheets were also introduced this year. Organic sarees produced in Nagal Nagar had become popular among customers at various places in the State.

“We will increase production of organic sarees and cotton sarees with natural dyes to meet the growing demand,” Mr. Venkatesh pointed out.
