Conductor suspended for ‘misbehaviour’

Following a recommendation from the Collector, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has placed a bus conductor under suspension for reportedly misbehaving with school students. According to officials, Collector K.S. Kandasamy received a letter on March 30 from class X students of a government school in Devikapuram. In the three-page complaint, the girls said that Kumar, a conductor of a government bus plying from Polur to Chetpet used obscene language and behaved disrespectfully.

Following this, the Collector instructed the officials of the District Child Protection Office to conduct an inquiry on April 2.

A team of officials, on inquiry, confirmed that the complaint was true. Following this, the Collector recommended that the conductor be suspended. On Wednesday, TNSTC issued an order placing the conductor under suspension.
