Compensation given to kin of accident victims

Compensation announced by the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was handed over to the kin of those killed in the road accident involving a SETC bus bound for Nagercoil from Chennai and a iron-plate loaded lorry near Tiruchi on Tuesday night.

District Revenue Officer A. Udhayakumar handed over the cheque of Rs. 1 lakh each to Kennedy Rajan, father of victim K.R. Manoj, Jesurathinam, father of the victim J. Antro Sanju, and Gabriel, father of Ginnieshetmet.

The compensation was given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in the presence of former Minister N. Thalaviai Sundaram and Kanyakumari M.L.A. K.T. Pachaimal.

P. Rajendran, Personal Assistant to Collector (General), S. Madhiayazhan, Special Deputy Collector (SSS), T. Subbiah, S.A. Asokan, Chairman, Kanyakumari District Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union among others were present.

Compensation cheque to Paulraj, father of P. Subin of Unnamalaikkadai was handed over by the Padmanabhapuram Revenue Divisional Officer, M. Rajasekaran.
