Come out with White Paper on economy, says Ramadoss

‘Corruption and irregularities are responsible for the present status of the economy’

January 02, 2015 09:13 am | Updated 09:13 am IST - CHENNAI:

PMK leader S. Ramadoss on Thursday said the State government should come out with a White Paper on the status of the economy, especially when Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam himself had admitted that the State was facing a huge financial crunch.

Recalling the Chief Minister’s letter to Prime Minister Naredra Modi explaining the State’s financial situation, Dr Ramadoss said the people must be informed why the State had plunged into such a crisis.

“Before coming to power, the AIADMK promised to secure an eminent status for Tamil Nadu in the country. Now the government claims that the economy is ailing. Let the government place a White Paper before the people,” he said.

Dr. Ramadoss said corruption and irregularities were responsible for the present status of the State's economy and finances meant for the coffers of the government had gone to the pockets of private companies.
