Collector’s directive to people for a clean environment

District Collector A. Gnanasekaran has asked people of Nallavanpalayam village to keep their surroundings clean and tidy in order to prevent outbreak of communicable diseases.

Addressing at their Gram Sabha meet organised in view of Republic Day Mr. Gnanasekaran asked people to avoid open area defecation and insisted that every household should construct their own toilet using the grant given by the government.

Mr. Gnanasekaran has opined that people should widely contribute to the debates at Gram Sabha meets as the forum was an appropriate body through which the village can decided what it wanted and what not. He also asked people to close abandoned bore wells to prevent accidents and asked all those crossed 18 years of age to register themselves as voters. Panchayat President Uma Elumalai and vice president Ayub Khan were present in the meet. Officials of various departments also participated in the meeting.
