Coast Guard rescues 10 Indian fishermen

The Coast Guard on Sunday rescued 10 Indian fishermen who had been missing since they left the Chinna Muttom fishing harbour in Kanyakumari district on Thursday.

A Coast Guard press release said the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), Colombo, confirmed that the fishing boat was spotted in Sri Lankan waters.

After obtaining clearances from the Sri Lankan authorities, a Coast Guard ship on Sunday launched a search operation across the International Maritime Boundary Line and spotted the fishing boat.
