CM inaugurates facilities

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday inaugurated various new infrastructure facilities here through video conferencing. Tiruchendur, a famous pilgrimage site, has been facilitated with a new travellers’ bungalow.

This new facility on 1,666 square feet was built through the Highways Department at a cost of Rs.38.50 lakh.

Besides, the district has also got further new infrastructure including residential quarters for Sub Collector at Korampallam through Public Works Department at a cost of Rs.45 lakh.

Further, newly-built firca survey offices were also opened at Sathankulam, Pazhayakayal and Deivaseyalpuram panchayats.

Each of the buildings was constructed at a cost of Rs. 12 lakh.

Collector M. Ravikumar inspected the facilities. J. Jeyasingh Thiyagaraj Natterji, Tuticorin MP, A.P.R. Anthony Grace, Mayor of Tuticorin Corporation, S. Gopala Sundara Raj, Tuticorin Sub Collector, Palaniappan, Superintending Engineer of Highways, V.Krishnasamy, Divisional Engineer, Highways, Tuticorin were present.
