Members of the Salem chapter of the Young Indians (Yi), affiliated to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), launched an ‘Operation We Cleanup’ campaign at the Sona College of Technology here on Saturday.
The event was organised in connection with the International Volunteers Day and was aimed at underlining the importance of participating voluntarily in the cleanliness campaign.
Responding to the call of the Prime Minister to volunteer for Clean India, Young Indians and Sona College of Technology organised the campaign with support from various civil society organisations.
The Yi members, volunteers and the students cleaned the entire Sona College campus.
Dinesh K. Amudhan, chair-Membership Engagement, Yi Salem Chapter, V. Jayaparakash, principal, Sona College of Technology, and Immanuel, professor, Sona College of Technology, participated in the campaign.
