China’s gesture to flood-affected T.N.

The Red Cross Society of China has donated $50,000 to help flood-affected residents of Tamil Nadu. The Chinese Embassy in India too donated Rs. 5 lakh to help the people overcome the disaster. Recently, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang sent a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing consolation to the Indian Government and the flood-stricken people. He also extended deep condolences to victims’ families.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent a message of consolation to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.

“It is a friendly tradition for the governments and people of China and India to help each other when disaster falls. Chinese people feel the suffering of the Indian people, and stand together with them. We believe the disaster-affected people will be able to overcome the difficulties and get back to normal life soon,” said a release from the Chinese Embassy.
