Children’s film festival begins

A four-day Children’s Film Festival, organised with a view to stimulating creativity, compassion and critical thinking among children, began here on Wednesday.

Films will be screened in 10 theatres across the district till to January 31 in the morning exclusively for children. Children from government, aided and private schools can watch the films free of cost.

Films such as Thannambikkai, Lilke, Dubashi, Krish Trish and Batliboi, Vetripadhai, Aruper Arbhatam, Hayat, Mehek Mirze, The Price and The Crown of Stone and Balya Medha will be screened in the festival supported by the Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI).

Collector Sajjansingh R. Chavan inaugurated the festival in the presence of Nagercoil MLA Nanjil A. Murugesan.

The School Education Department prepared a schedule of schools to take the children to the allotted theatres to watch the films.
