More than 300 students from different schools displayed their talent with brush and paints at the ‘Paint Fest 2015’ annual painting competition organised by the YMCA Salem here on Monday. The event was organised in connection with the Republic Day celebrations.

The competition was held in 14 groups from pre- KG, LKG and UKG to Class XII. The students were asked to paint the picture of their choice using water colour, crayons and sketch pen.

Ravi Varma alias Kumar, a renowned painter and president of Artists Association, was the judge and he selected the best paintings.

Surya, District Manager, E-Governance, was the chief guest at the valediction and distributed prizes and certificates to the first three winners in all the 14 categories.

Raja Daniel Stephens, Vice President, National Council of YMCA, spoke on the occasion. M. John Michael Jose, General Secretary of the YMCA, felicitated the winners.
