Cello Handwriting Wizard Contest

January 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - SALEM:

The Hindu in School Cello Handwriting Wizard Contest is an endeavour to encourage and recognise good handwriting skills.

It would be held at 3 levels – school level, Salem regional level and all India finals – in two categories- junior and senior.

After the phenomenal response to the school round, it’s now time for the regional round. In celebration of the National Handwriting Day, the Salem regional round will be held on January 30 at the Sona College auditorium at 2.00 pm.

L. S. Sathyamoorthy, Senior Civil Judge, Salem, will be the chief guest.

The school round evoked overwhelming response with the participation of about 40,000 students from a record number of 128 schools from the districts of Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri.

The school level winners will be competing for honours at the Salem regional round.

The School Handwriting wizards will now get to create the ‘Cello Wall’ where they write about the changes that they want in the country.

The date of all India finals will be intimated later.

“Cello Handwriting Wizards contest is in line with our fundamental belief in encouraging the joy of writing and ensuring that students are the key enablers. The activation aims at mass participation and recognition of the talent”, according to Permendra Singh, Director – Marketing, Cello.
