The Crime Branch – Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID), investigating the murder case of V. Gokulraj and the death of Tiruchengode DSP R. Vishnupriya, has issued notice to three private television channels that aired the interviews of S. Yuvaraj, the prime accused in the murder case, during his three-month hideout.

Sources in the CB-CID said when the police were on the lookout for the prime accused, a channel conducted face-to-face interview with him while other two channels conducted an interview over Skype. Also, a magazine conducted an interview with him and published pictures of Yuvaraj before his surrender on October 11.

An explanation was sought on how they could establish contact with Yuvaraj.

After his surrender, the CB-CID took seven-day custody of Yuvaraj and produced him in the court on October 19.

Chief Judicial Magistrate S. Malarmathy remanded him in judicial custody till November 2 and he was lodged at Vellore Central Prison.
