Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday informed the Assembly that a case had indeed been registered by the police, relating to allegations of large-scale bribing of voters of R.K. Nagar. On Sunday, he had denied knowledge of the EC’s direction.

Not satisfied with the CM’s response, DMK members, led by Leader of the Opposition M.K. Stalin, as well as Congress members, led by Legislature Party leader K.R. Ramasamy, and the lone Indian Union Muslim League member, K.A.M. Muhammed Abubacker, staged a walkout.
