During the drive, the officials confronted a cab driver who allegedly did not have proper vehicle documents.

The car was seized and Chikkanna was asked to take the car to the Yelahanka bus depot. While the car was on its way, the cab driver allegedly took Chikkanna to Seshadripuram to an isolated place. The driver’s associates were allegedly waiting and they, beat up Chikkanna and sped away.
