Broadcast slots allotted to political parties

Four political parties from Tamil Nadu and one party from Puducherry have been allotted broadcast/telecast time by the All India Radio and Doordarshan for the Lok Sabha election campaign.

Both the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam have been given 40 minutes each of broadcast and telecast time. The allotted time would have to be utilised in eight instalments of five minutes each.

Pattali Makkal Katchi, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam and All India NR Congress have been allotted 35 minutes of broadcast time and another 35 minutes of telecast time each. The allotted time would have to be used in seven instalments of five minute duration.

The Prasar Bharati Corporation will announce the actual days and time of the broadcast/telecast, which will be decided through draw of lots in consultation with the Election Commission, according to an official release.
