Investigating teams have obtained clinching evidence in the Muthoot heist case, police sources said on Sunday.

The case could be cracked within the next few days, the sources told The Hindu . They hinted that persons who knew the layout of the office premises of Muthoot Mini Financiers (P) Limited along the Tirupur-Kangeyam road and its operational pattern had helped the accused.

Senior police officers, however, told The Hindu that no arrest had officially been made so far.

In all, over 100 persons were interrogated by different special teams constituted by the district police following the robbery, in which as much as 1,381 sovereigns of gold jewellery were looted from the branch office on September 24.

The fact that the crime was committed without disturbing the furniture on the office premises and the recovery of electronic gadgets that were robbed from some employees of the firm had given concrete leads to the police during their investigations.
