Blood group identification camp

A day-long blood group identification camp was organised under the auspices of Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project and Primary Health Centre at Neer Palani village near here on Thursday.

V.C.Subash Gandhi, District Health Systems Project Officer, spoke on the importance of identifying the blood group of pregnant women as part of antenatal care as they are more prone to anaemia.

He also said that all latest drugs were available at government hospitals and primary health centres. Jansi Rani, gynaecologist, screened 58 pregnant women from various villages in and around Neer Palani and ascertained their blood group.
