A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) man was booked by the Harur police for a video on Periyar, where the accused is seen slapping cow dung on a poster of Periyar, after cutting a cow-dung cake to mark the birth anniversary of the revolutionary social reformer.

The video was posted on the Facebook page of the accused, but it has been taken down.

The video was made on Periyar’s birth anniversary on September 17.

The accused, Kalai Arasan, 25, is a Harur resident and is working in Tiruppur.
