The Bharatiya Janata Party leadership, which will concentrate in Tamil Nadu after the Bihar Assembly polls, will create significant changes in the political scenario in the State, according to Union Minister of State for Shipping and Highways Pon. Radhakrishnan.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Mr. Radhakrishnan, who participated in a party workers’ meeting, said that the BJP would register a resounding victory in Bihar. After ensuring the BJP’s thumping win there, the party high command would concentrate on Tamil Nadu and pay due attention to strengthen the party here further.

The steps to be taken by the BJP leaders would cause significant changes in Tamil Nadu politics and also in the next Assembly polls. Tamil Nadu was witnessing gruesome murders every day, Mr. Radhakrishnan said.

Colachel harbour

He said that the feasibility study, conducted for establishing a harbour at Colachel, had come to a positive conclusion that a seaport could be established in the coastal town and predicted that the harbour to come up at Colachel would lead to the creation of a number of industries in Kanyakumari district.

The Minister hoped that the proposed bridge to connect Dhanushkodi and Thalaimannar in Sri Lanka would accelerate the growth of Ramanathapuram district.
