Coimbatore SIDCO Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association has appealed to the State Government to widen the road from Sundarapuram to Karpagam College junction.

President of the association M.V. Loganathan has said in a press release that this is an accident-prone area and the police are taking steps to minimise accidents.

The temporary barriers kept on the road are not clearly visible during night hours. Hence, this stretch on the Pollachi road should also be made into a four-lane road.

A police check post should also be established near the industrial estate to prevent anti-social activities in the area.

The electricity charge collected by Tangedco should be abolished and the hidden charges in banking transactions should be minimum, he said.
