The rural police on Monday arrested a 78-year-old man on charges of murdering his 42-year-old son here recently.
N. Suresh was found murdered with his throat slit at his residence in Jainagar in Omalur on May 8. His father A. Natesan informed the Omalur police.
The police registered a case and begun investigation. Inquiries revealed that Suresh, who was married twice and got separated from both wives, did not go for job and was demanding money often from his father for consuming liquor.
Last Thursday, altercation broke between the two while Suresh mother went to relative’s house. After Suresh slept, Natesan murdered him and staged drama.
