Applicants throng taluk office to apply for Aadhaar card

May 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:38 am IST - ERODE:

Hundreds of applicants lined up before the Erode Taluk office on Friday to apply for Aadhaar cards.

The queue could move forward slowly due to shortage of staff, and the cumbersome procedure of making computer entries of the details of applicants.

The process gathered pace at a later stage after the staff distributed forms after making manual entry of the names of the applicants.

According to V. Panneerselvam, District Secretary, Tamil Nadu Pensioners’ Association, there was no need to make computer entries when there were a large number of applicants waiting to receive forms. The forms will have to be filled and submitted after obtaining the signature of VAO.
