With the city receiving good rain over the past one week, the City Municipal Corporation has intensified its anti-dengue operations by carrying out fogging in residential areas.

Anti-repellents

Officials said that conservancy workers are already involved in pouring anti-repellents in water storage containers in residential areas both in the morning and evening hours.

They said that due to rain, water stagnates on roads which serve as a breeding place for mosquitoes. Hence, fogging in all the wards have been intensified, they added.

Due to digging of roads for laying of pipelines and for underground cables, most of the roads in residential areas were damaged as it waits for re-laying.

Hence, Aedes mosquito breeds largely in water storage containers and in stagnation areas.

Officials also asked residents to clean up containers and close it properly. They also asked residents to visit the nearest hospital in case they are suffering from fever.
