Two-day cultural programmes to create awareness of the rights of children affected by poverty, destitution, abandonment, violence, hunger and neglect began in Kanyakumari to mark the 40th anniversary of German-based Terre des hommes on Friday.
A seminar on ‘Keeping children safe’ would be held on Saturday, said S.M. Prithivi Raj, Executive Director, CARE – T.
Mr. Prithivi Raj told The Hindu that Terre des hommes started its service in Pune in 1975. The organisation was working with the civil society organisations for the welfare of children and protection of child rights. It had expanded its service to others parts of the nation later.
