Expressing apology for the untoward incident involving his supporters at the tollgate near Ulundurpet, PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Sunday said a case had been filed against him by the government out of political vendetta.

In a statement here, the former Union Minister said the staff manning the toll plaza allowed his car and the one ahead of it to pass through, but indulged in a fight with those who were following in other vehicles.

“I was not aware of what had happened at the tollgate as I was talking over my phone and came to know about it only when I got off for a cup of tea,” he said. He immediately handed over to police three persons who were allegedly responsible for the damage at the tollgate.

Mr. Anbumani said despite knowing well he had nothing to do with the incident, the police had included him in the case after obtaining a statement from those who had surrendered.
