An opportunity to discuss trends

Industrial associations organise INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC EVENTS during the annual meeting

It is the time of the year when most of the industrial and trade associations in the city conduct their annual general meetings. The meetings get to see re-elections or change in office-bearers. Apart from internal business sessions, events are conducted to mark the annual meeting. Experts, political leaders, and guests are invited from different parts of the country for seminars or conferences.

Such events give an opportunity for the association members to discuss the issues faced by the industry, the latest trends in the economy and in their sector.

The secretary general of an association here says that the main purpose of these events is to inform the members on the developments in the last one year and update them on the trends and expectations for the next one year. The members will get a macro picture of the economy. For instance, Make in India is an initiative that the manufacturing units can be part of.

Organising such programmes during the annual meeting serves two purposes - members who come for the meeting will attend the conferences too and the event becomes an annual programme that the industry looks forward to. There are sponsors who allocate funds for some of these events every year.
