The ruling AIADMK will undertake a fast in the State on Tuesday to urge the Centre to immediately constitute the Cauvery Management Board and the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee.

DMK president M.K. Stalin on Friday called upon Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to convene the Cabinet meeting and adopt a resolution condemning Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to act on the Supreme Court’s order on the Cauvery river water dispute. His party will hold an all-party meeting in Chennai to discuss conducting agitations in the State.

AIADMK coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam announced in Madurai that the party’s workers would observe a one-day fast across the State on April 3.

Separately, Mr. Palaniswami said the State government would decide on the future course of action after consulting legal experts.
