Condemn Centre for not constituting the CMB

As part of a State-wide protest, the AIADMK party members on Tuesday observed a fast in Vellore to condemn the Centre for not constituting the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) as per the order of the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the DMK led by former Minister and Katpadi’s Member of Legislative Assembly Durai Murugan staged a road roko near the Green Circle.

Members of the AIADMK, Vellore west and east district units, took part in the fast held on Anna Salai.

Commercial Taxes Minister K.C. Veeramani and Labour Minister Nilofer Kafeel were present.

Ensure TN rights

The party demanded that the Centre constituted the CMB and ensured that the Cauvery river water sharing rights of Tamil Nadu were upheld.

They urged the Central government to protect the livelihood and welfare of the farmers in the State.

Meanwhile, the DMK’s Vellore central district unit, following an urgent meeting, staged a road roko near Green Circle.

They condemned the BJP government at the Centre for not constituting the CMB, and also condemned the AIADMK government for failing to act.
