AIADMK doing PR for Centre: Stalin

DMK working president and Leader of the Opposition M.K. Stalin has alleged that the ruling AIADMK government has been engaging in public relations (PR) for the Centre so as to safeguard its sustenance, instead of focussing on governance.

Mr. Stalin referred to a notification from the Director of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) to its officials across the State, asking them to script success stories about Central government schemes, and pointed out that the DIPR was established only to advertise and publicise welfare schemes of the State government. The DIPR publicising the Centre’s schemes only demonstrated how much the AIADMK government was “in the grip of the Centre”, he charged.

He doubted whether the Chief Minister and other Ministers believed they could escape from corruption charges and raids by various agencies by ‘cajoling’ the Centre. “It also makes one wonder if the BJP is ruling Tamil Nadu covertly through the puppet AIADMK government in place,” he said.
