AIADMK cries foul over land sale

June 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - DINDIGUL:

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) councillors staged a walkout from the council meeting here on Wednesday, condemning allotment of 4.5 cents of ‘poromboke’ land to an individual illegally.

They also staged a demonstration, condemning the chairman for having allotted the land, situated behind a site proposed for construction of new sub-registrar office in the 15th ward.

The town panchayat had also issued a no objection certificate in November 28, 2014.

The council approval was not obtained for making such a move, the AIADMK councillors claimed.

When there was no response from the council, the AIADMK councillors Janaki Selvam, Ilango, Karpagam Selladurai, Ramakrishnan, Muthusamy and Jayanthi Nagarajan walked out of the council hall.

The beneficiaries had sold the land to private parties and made huge profits, they said and demanded action against those who were involved in the covert deal.
