Accused surrenders before court

Jai Ganesh Pandian of Pandarapatti in Tuticorin district, an accused in a case relating to hurling of bomb on Muthu Pandian of Karatazhaganpatti, surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate Court II here on Monday.

Earlier, he filed a petition in Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court seeking anticipatory bail but the Bench directed him to surrender before the Dindigul court for bail. He was given bail.

The police arrested three other accused – Subbu Kalai of Karatazhaganpatti in Dindigul district, Athisaya Pandian of Sivanthipatti in Tiruneveleli district and Kumaresan of Chinnalapatti in Dindigul district.

On December 24, 2012, Muthu Pandian escaped from an attempt to murder him behind Dindigul District Court. A gang hurled a country bomb on his vehicle and fled away.

On April 15, 2014, Muthu Pandian was murdered by an unidentified gang near Alagarkoil in Madurai district. He was one of the key accused in Devendra Kula Vellalar Koottamaippu founder Pasupathi Pandian murder case.
