Accept money but vote as per your conscience: Vijayakanth

Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam leader Vijayakanth on Friday wanted the people to accept money from political parties but vote as per their conscience.

Addressing a public meeting at Vattam near Thuckalay in Kanyakumari district, Mr. Vijayakanth accused the State government of operating badly damaged TNSTC buses, scrapped in other districts, in Kanyakumari district. He said that the AIADMK government had failed to fulfil the aspirations of people in the last four and a half years.

While listing the “malpractices” of the State government, Mr. Vijayakanth alleged that minor minerals in the district were being looted by a private companies with the connivance of the two major Dravidian parties.

Two best teacher awardees were honoured with Rs. 5,000 each and a memento. Toppers in Plus Two and SSLC public examinations were given laptops and school bags were distributed to poor students at the meeting.

District secretaries Jagannathan (Kanyakumari - East), and S. Dinesh(Kanyakumari - West), spoke.
