About two lakh candidates appeared for the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2015 conducted by the VIT University, Vellore in 112 cities on Wednesday for admission to 14 B.Tech. programmes in the Vellore campus and five B.Tech. programmes in the Chennai campus of the university.
The entrance examination was conducted in the form of a computer-based test from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. VIT Chancellor G. Viswanathan and Vice-Presidents Sekar Viswanathan and G.V. Selvam inspected the test.
VIT had sold 2.02,406 application forms for VITEEE this year, as against 1,93,790 applications last year.
A VIT release stated that the University would announce the results on or before April 30 in the following websites: www.vit.ac.in, www.schools9.com, www.indiaresults.com, www.minglebox.com, www.shiksha.com, www.bharathedu.com and www.examresults.net.
Counselling for admissions will be held from May 11 to 16, with each day divided by the ranks in ascending order. Counselling for those with ranks up to 8000 will be held on May 11, ranks between 8001 and 12,000 on May 12, ranks from 12,001 to 16,000 on May 13 and ranks from 16,001 to 20,000 on May 16.
