Emboldened by the welcome it enjoys among the public, Aavin (Tamil Milk Producers' Co-operative Federation) has decided to market its products aggressively.
“As the first major step, we have decided to accept bulk orders even for weddings”, a top official told The Hindu on Tuesday. “We have sufficient milk, butter, ghee, curd, ice cream and sweets for even marriages. All that we require is only two days notice. We can supply any quantity. The orders will be accepted on full payment not only in Chennai but also in districts.”
Explaining the decision, he said: “We learnt that there is very good demand for our ice cream in marriages, apart from our milk. Hence we have decided to step into this area too.”
So far, Aavin has been catering to marriages selectively. “However the public are not aware of this,” he said.
