The miscreants asked for some address and diverted her attention before snatching the chain. She screamed for help but before the villagers could come to her rescue, they fled the scene, police said.

Within 30 minutes, they struck at Gundoorani Valasai in the same Thirupulani police limit and snatched seven sovereigns of chain from G. Poornavathi (53).

She was returning home after buying milk when the miscreants intercepted her on the pretext of seeking address, police said.

As the thieves approached the woman after parking the vehicle, she turned to the other side, when they snatched the ‘Thali’chain, weighing five sovereign from behind, police said.

In the third case, police obtained the registration number of the two-wheeler and exuded confidence of arresting the thieves.
