A run to conserve water

K. Tharun Kumar, a student of Adiyaman College, Hosur, who is on a run covering the six western districts to create awareness on the importance of water conservation, reached Salem on Friday.

Tharun Kumar, hailing from Nallavanpalayam village in Tiruvannamalai district, began the run from Coimbatore on June 16. He will cover about 350km through Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri in six days.

The run was to stress the need for setting up proper water conservation structures in houses, and other buildings.

Tharun Kumar was accorded a reception in Omalur near here.

He will complete his run at Hosur on June 21.
