A grade for SASTRA University

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has revised the score given to SASTRA University in its third cycle accreditation after considering an appeal from the varsity.

S.Vaidhyasubamaniam, Dean, Planning and Development, SASTRA University, in a press release, said that the varsity was awarded A Grade in the 3rd cycle accreditation by NAAC with a score of 3.3 during March 2014.

The university preferred an appeal on the scores awarded and based on the details provided, the Appeal Committee has revised the scoring on 4 parameters – curricular aspects, research, consultancy and extension, teaching and learning and innovation and best practices. The appellate authority revised the score to 3.54 and its decision was finally approved by the Executive Committee in its meeting held on May 11, the release added.
