Actor Vishal has had a busy week. Even as he preparing for the Nadigar Sangam elections which is scheduled to take place on July 15 and also attend to his acting assignments, the actor recently paid a visit to his father and producer, G.K. Reddy on the sets of the Kannada remake of Mysskin's critically acclaimed supernatural film, Pisasu .

G.K. Reddy, who is believed to have harboured dreams of becoming an actor at the age of 17 before getting into production and subsequently into the granite business, is making his acting debut in the film at the age of 77.

He will be playing the role of the ghost's father, played by actor Radha Ravi in the original.

The Kannada film, directed by A.R. Murugadoss' assistant, Ashraf, recently went on the floor, prompting a visit by actor Vishal to the sets. The actor is believed to have been quite surprised by his father's ability for histrionics and high spirits on the set.

A new wave of

horror-comedy

Keeping with the new trend of horror-comedy movies tasting success, ‘Sowcarpet’ is on its way to spook you.

Starring Srikanth and Raai Laxmi, the film as its title suggests, is set in the bustling area of Sowcarpet. While other horror films manipulate darkness to create creepy atmosphere, Sowcarpet will test the waters by trying to show supernatural elements during daytime.

After directing action-oriented films like Thambi Vettothi Sundaram, director V.C.Vadivudaiyan wants to entertain the audience through the horror-comedy movie that is under production in three languages –Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. “I wanted to bring families and children to theatres. I am planning to reshoot portions of the film for local flavour and release simultaneously by July-end. We haven’t decided titles for films in other languages,” he said.

While Raai Laxmi has done a few horror films, this is a new realm for Srikanth who plays dual role in the movie.“So far, Tamil films have had ghana songs all right, but we have tried composing a ghana song on ghosts,” Vadivudaiyan said.
