Two persons were killed on the spot and one injured when a government transport corporation bus bound for Trichy from Thanjavur hit a motor bike, ran over it and entered a bus shelter at Tirumalaisamudram near Thanjavur on Friday.
According to the police, Bhaskaran (35) of Sengipatti was returning from Sengipatti to Thanjavur on a motor bike. The two-wheeler collided head on with a transport corporation bus from Thanjavur to Trichy and was run over. Bhaskaran who went under the wheels of the bus died on the spot. The bus later entered a shelter on the side of the road and hit Manikandan (16) of Sengipatti who was standing at the bus shelter. He also died on the spot. Vallam police have registered a case.
