Three slain CRPF personnel from State

Three of the 74 CRPF personnel killed by Maoists in the Dantewada forest in Chattisgarh belonged to Tamil Nadu.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (CRPF-Chennai Range) S.A. Jabbar identified them as Head Constable D. Sekhar of Thokkiam village in Vellore district; Constables R. Mohana Rangan of Poompuhar Nagar in Kolathur; and K. Vijay Kumar of Pulayanvilai in Kanyakumari district.

While the body of Vijay Kumar will reach the Thiruvananthanpuram airport, from where it will be taken to his native village, the other bodies will arrive in Chennai by a scheduled flight on Thursday evening. Mr. Jabbar said Rs. 10,000 would be given as immediate relief to each of the families for funeral expenses.
