AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa on Saturday demanded sacking of Tamil Nadu Ministers M. R. K. Panneerselvam and Mohideen Khan for their ‘inhuman action’ of not taking steps to save a policeman who was seriously injured and crying for help after being attacked by a gang in Tirunelveli district.

Vetrivel, a Sub-Inspector, was lying in a pool of blood on the road with his leg severed in the attack when the Ministers’ convoy was passing through on Thursday.

“The Ministers without taking any steps to save the sub-inspector had only called for an ambulance during the golden hour period,’ she said in a statement here.

Instead of waiting for the ambulance, if the Ministers had taken steps to take the injured police official to a nearby hospital by their car or by a police vehicle immediately, he would have been saved, Ms. Jayalalithaa said, describing their action as “inhuman“.

She condemned the incident and demanded dismissal of the two Ministers.
