Solatium given to families of deceased

Minister for Rural Industries Pongalur N. Palanisamy gave away on Sunday solatium of Rs.1 lakh each to the families of four of the five persons who were killed in an accident at an unmanned level crossing at Idigarai in Coimbatore District on Friday.

Five persons were killed and seven others injured when a train rammed into the bus that stopped in the middle of the crossing.

The State government had announced that Rs.1 lakh would be given to the families of the deceased and Rs.25,000 to each of the injured.
