The Singapore government is planning to organise a one month Indian cultural festival at Singapore, said Balaji Sadasivan, the Minister of State for External Affairs, Singapore government here on Tuesday.
He visited the South Zone Cultural Centre here and held discussions with V. Giridhar, Director of the centre. He put forward the Singapore government's plan to organise an Indian cultural festival at Singapore to Giridhar and sought help from the South Zone Cultural Centre to make it a success. Giridhar assured to send cultural troupes from India to Singapore for the festival.
Earlier the Minister visited the Art Gallery and the Saraswathi Mahal Library. Then he went to the Tamil University, where he spent some time at the University library. He said that books from Singapore could be show-cased separately in the library.
