Science Day celebrated

‘National Science Day’ was celebrated under the auspices of the Tamil Nadu Science Forum and Junior Chamber International here recently.

L. Prabakaran, president of Pudukottai District unit of Tamil Nadu Science Forum, said that the United Nations Organisation had declared 2010 as ‘Year of Bio-diversity’ with a view to preserving bio-diversity of the earth. C. Govindasamy, State executive committee member of the Forum, explained the activities being taken up in the district.

D. Thomas Edward, president of Junior Chamber International, distributed prizes and certificates to the students.

The SFS Higher Secondary School; Ranee’s Girls’ Higher Secondary School and Saint Mary’s Higher Secondary School got the first prizes in three competitions held as part of the celebrations.
