Ramkumar remanded in judicial custody for 15 days

P. Ramkumar, the suspected killer of Infosys engineer S. Swathi, was brought to Chennai in the early hours of Monday amid tight security.

Ramkumar, who was admitted to the Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital in the early hours of Saturday after he slit his throat in a suicide bid, was on Sunday evening taken by an ambulance to Chennai.

Ramkumar is expected to be lodged in the Puzhal prison soon after his recovery.

09:22 am: “Idli, idiyappam and juice is given to Ramkumar and after some time he will be given solid food. The medical team comprising an ENT doctor and a surgeon are there. They will check the patient frequently and update,” the sources said.

09:15 am: "Patient is stable and conscious, the wound is healing and he is also talking well," said the sources.

09:00 am: Ramkumar is brought to the Royapettah General Hospital in Chennai. Hospital sources said “he is conscious and able to speak.”
