Rajnikanth treated for dehydration

Actor Rajnikanth was hospitalised briefly on Friday after he suffered exhaustion due to dehydration.

The actor had begun shooting for his period film ‘Rana' on Friday morning, but had an episode of vomiting.

Following this he was admitted to St. Isabel Hospital, Mylapore, into the Intensive Care Unit.

His treating physician, C.V.Krishnaswami said the actor had a case of exhaustion possibly brought on by dehydration.

However, he responded well, and was now fine.

Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi and his daughter and MP, Kanimozhi, visited the actor in the hospital.

Rajnikanth was discharged later in the evening, according to hospital sources.
