Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) will offer fee waiver to pursue PhD to the students and staff from VIT University, starting from the academic year 2017-18.
Under an agreement signed in Vellore, QMUL would offer three full PhD waivers per year to qualified students and staff from VIT University, says a release from VIT.
Successful candidates will cover their living expenses either through self-funding, or funding from VIT University, in line with the cost of living guidelines set out by the UK Visas and Immigration.
Fee waiver
The fee waiver will be offered across the schools at QMUL’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, including School of Engineering and Materials Science, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, School of Mathematical Sciences, School of Physics and Astronomy and the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences.
The agreement came as part of a senior level QMUL visit to India. Professor David Sadler, QMUL Vice Principal (International), led the visit.
Professor V. Raju, pro-Vice Chancellor of VIT University has been quoted in the release as saying, “The current agreement will further enhance the ongoing collaborative activities.”
