Poll panel to review preparations in Tamil Nadu from tomorrow

With the Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu slated for early 2011, the Election Commission will review poll preparations in the State for two days starting Tuesday.

Chief Election Commissioner Navin Chawla and Commissioners S.Y. Quraishi and V.S. Sampath will hold a series of discussions with top officials in the state.

Progress on photo electoral rolls, setting up of new polling stations, security arrangement and distribution of Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) are some of the issues to come up for discussion during the meeting the with Chief Secretary, Chief Electoral Officer, DGP and other senior officials, Election Commission sources said on Monday.

The term of the present Assembly in the State is scheduled to end on May 16, 2011.
