Karunanidhi seeks another mandate to continue good work

DMK president and Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi has appealed to the people to give the party another mandate in the coming Assembly elections to continue the good work that it carried out between 2006-11.

Speaking at Vallam near here from his election campaign van on Friday morning, Mr. Karunanidhi said construction of concrete houses replacing huts in the State was one of the important schemes implemented by the DMK. But it should be continued in the coming years to provide concrete houses to all people selected under the scheme.

The DMK regime could continue the work only when people voted it to power in this election too. He also appealed to the people to judge who would implement the promises made to them in the election manifesto. S. S. Palani Manickam, Union Minister of State for Finance and T. R. Baalu, former Union Minister, accompanied the Chief Minister. Later he left for Tiruchi district.
